100.000.000 manholes in Europe

    There's 1 severe accident every 1500 inspections
Faulty information costs up to €100k in delays & material
Good practice means inspect every 5y
    export
Networks are averaging 50y: renovations incoming!
Digital maps are the foundation of smart cities
    Preventive maintenance cheaper than repairing

A safer working environment

Inspecting any of the 100.000.000 manholes in Europe can be a time consuming and dangerous task. SewerMapper offers a lightweight, mobile system that measures, inspects and maps vertical sewer canals.
SewerMapper creates safer and more comfortable living environments, thanks to digitalization and automation for richer data and higher precision in sewer management, by creating systems for remote scanning.

SewerMapper Scanner

The SewerMapper consists of 2 elements that work together wirelessly:Our scanner descends into the manhole and captures the data, our motor unit receives the GPS coordinates and communicates with the scanner and your (mobile) device.
✔︎ 360° photo and video✔︎ 3D capture of any shape and depth manhole✔︎ Lightweight & wireless scanner✔︎ Motorized portable tripod✔︎ Integratable with your cable system

Workflow on-site

5 easy steps to scan a manhole. Target total time is only 5 minutes!

Illustration

Step 1. Switch on

Turn on the scanner & motor unit. Set up the system next to manhole.

Step 2. Open manhole

While you are opening the manhole, the GPS is getting a fix. Position device over the manhole, optionally aligned North for mapping. Always follow safety measures and good practices -eg. gas monitoring.

Step 3. Go to interface

Once device is in place, use your tablet, laptop or smartphone to connect to the SewerMapper. Go to the web-app via your browser to enter manhole information (or surroundings data) and start the capture.

Step 4. Ready to scan

Launch a scan via the web-app. Sensors warmed up? Good to go! Start the descent (using the motor or manually).

Step 5. Review & on to the next

Stop the capture when back up. Review the capture by checking the "quick-3D" image on your device. Unmount the system and close the manhole. The rest gets done at the office!

Workflow at the office

All while charging!

When putting the scanner to charge, updates will be installed and your captures can be synced to start post-processing!

Some Exciting Cases

Illustration

Belgium

Pilot for inventory with land surveyorsSome Belgian sewers are not completely digitally mapped yet or contain faulty information. Therefore, land surveyors and study bureaus are busy mapping it all! In this pilot, we learned which features could be improved and gave a taste of fast inspection!

Illustration

Australia

Preparing the renovation of 2 "no-go" manholes with the Vertiliner system. These manholes required the SewerMapper for quick & easy reporting of the detarioration and measurements & sections. Contact Pipe Core for more info for SewerMapper in Australia!

Czech Republic

Visual and geometric information of no-go manholes. High-security and hazardous environment means acces & work permits with strict regulation. In total, 44 manholes were mapped in the frame of a complete sewer overhaul.
